Evidence of Tradition: Blancpain Dual Time Tourbillon

September 10th, 2009 · No Comments

Blancpain Dual Time Tourbillon replicaWithout tradition, we would have no foundation, no identity. Blancpain is indeed the guardian of tradition among modern watchmakers. The company sticks to classic values and produces mechanical watches with round cases. Blancpain has created watches for over 250 years, and every timepiece produced by it is a part of this heritage.
Naturally, the Blancpain Dual Time Tourbillon comes with a round case. The stainless steel case measures 40mm in diameter, which is also a sign of tradition - most watches have 44mm or even larger cases nowadays.
The watch is the perfect companion for those who travel a lot – the opalescent dial features the dual time zone display at 12 o’clock. The display combines both tradition and innovation – the first watches with this feature appeared only in the late 19th century. Before that the timepieces showing time in more than one place were not needed – people rarely traveled, and only seamen could find such a feature useful. But with the advent of the era of mass travel and reasonably cheap transportation, the dual time zone has become essential.Blancpain Dual Time Tourbillon replica
Besides this useful feature, there is also a seconds counter positioned at 6 o’clock. Polished sword hands coated with a luminous compound mark the time and are visible even during evening hours. Large Arabic numerals make the dial easy to read.
The Blancpain Dual Time Tourbillon is powered by Caliber 5L60, an automatic movement with a 100-hour power reserve. The movement, set with 29 jewels, can be admired through a sapphire crystal exhibition case-back.
The screw-down push-pieces, crown and back of the watch allow for a tight seal and ensure water-resistance to 100 meters. The classic look of the Blancpain Dual Time Tourbillon is completed with a leather strap.
