Khaki is known as one of the most popular Hamilton watch collections. In 2009 Hamilton presented two new Khaki models – Khaki Base Jump Auto Chrono and Khaki Base Jump Automatic. The watches were launched in September 2009. The new Hamilton timepieces are equipped with high-precision Swiss movements. In the automatic version it is a 2824 ETA-movement, while automatic chronograph version features a 7750 movement.
Both watch models feature an over sized case that is 50 mm in diameter. The automatic watch features a case that is made out of steel with PVD-black and PVD-bronze surface. The case of the chronograph watch is made out of titanium with PVD-black or PVD-bronze. Both models are water resistant to 100 meters.
The watches feature well-protected crown that is located on the left-hand side of the timepiece. The greatest feature of the Khaki BASE Jump Auto Chrono is the turning bezel that is intended to be used in the chronograph activation. The turning bezel of the Khaki BASE Jump Automatic is used for a bi-directional countdown.
Both watches feature either a black or a bronze dial that matches color of the case. The dial is decorated with a ‘Clous de Paris’ pattern. Both watches feature protective sapphire crystal. The watches come with a matching strap – a black rubber strap or a more elegant brown leather strap.
Together with these nice models fans of Hamilton have at their disposal many other Hamilton Khaki watch models, for instance Hamilton Khaki X-Copter model that as well is considered a very popular Hamilton model. Watches from this lineup are very stylish and very functional. The watches have a peculiar “helicopter” design. Functions include minutes, seconds, hours, temperature converter, special calculators and many others.
The bezel features fine markings that indicated compass bearings, temperature scales and seconds. The watch features easily visible key numbers and pointed arrow hands. There is a bold letter H at 6 o’clock position – the miniaturized “helipad”. As well there is a cut of propeller at the rear of the case. It reveals the movement’s work.
