In 2009 Panerai presented many bright novelties and many of them are related to sea. This is quite natural because the brand initially was launched as a manufacturer of watches for Italian naval forces.

In recent years the brand concentrates on creation and development of its own movements. The year 2009 was not an exception. All the models presented at SIHH 2009 were equipped with calibers by Panerai.

Luminor Marina Automatic 44mm

This is an automatic watch with a big case (44 mm in diameter). The watch is crafted out of titanium. The timepiece is equipped with a COSC certified movement with anti-shock device and power reserve of 42 hours. Water resistance of this watch is 300 mm. The watch features a titanium bracelet with polished and brushed links. The model is available with a device for bracelet removal and replacement.

Radiomir Tourbillon GMT 48 mm and Luminor 1950 Tourbillon GMT 47 mm

These two novelties have one feature in common – this is Caliber P.2005 with tourbillon. Radiomir Tourbillon GMT 48 mm is made out of rose gold while Luminor 1950 Tourbillon GMT 47 mm is crafted out of titanium. Besides tourbillon, these great watches have such useful function as the second time zone.
Both series come in limited editions. Radiomir Tourbillon GMT 48 mm is released in a limited edition of 100 pieces, while Luminor 1950 Tourbillon GMT 47 mm is available in a limited edition of 150 pieces.

Every year Panerai offers its special series. In this year the Italian company presented the Luminor 1950 Regatta Rattrapante 44 mm DLC split-chronograph dedicated to Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge regatta that is sponsored by Panerai. The watch is equipped with OP XVIII movement entirely developed and manufactured by Panerai. The watch has a 44 mm case that is made out of stainless steel with black DLC coating.
The stainless steel case back has the engraving Classic Yachts Challenge 2009. The series comes in a limited edition of 500 pieces.

Radiomir Egiziano & Giorni

This is one of the brightest 2009 models. This watch is designed for those who like big watches. The timepiece measures 60 mm in diameter. The timepiece comes in a series of 300 pieces. Now Panerai has to find 300 giants who would like to wear this treasure on their wrists.
